Why Your Pages Should Declare Their Language for AI

Some of your pages do not state what language they are written in. One short setting tells every machine which language to read the page as, instead of leaving it to guess.

Pages do not say what language they are in

What this means

Every page can state its language in one hidden setting at the very top of its code, such as English, French or Urdu.

This problem counts the pages where that setting is missing.

Why it matters for AI

Machines can usually guess the language from the words, but not always: short pages, pages with many names or product codes, and pages mixing two languages are easy to get wrong.

A wrong guess affects which searches and which countries a page is considered for.

Fix it with AI Schema Gen

Every step below is in the AI Schema Gen dashboard, whatever your site is built with. For the fixes to reach your pages, your site needs to be connected first: connect your site.

  1. 1

    Open Fixes

In the menu on the left, click Fixes.

The left-hand menu with an arrow pointing at Fixes
  2. 2

    Find the card under Read

Scroll down to Read. The card ending do not say what language they are in lists the first few pages.

  3. 3

Set the language of your site

This is a change on your side. The language is set once for the whole site, in the settings of your website builder or in the site template by a developer.

AI Schema Gen cannot make this change from the dashboard: it works on the structured data of your pages, not on the pages themselves.

  4. 4

    Check again

Go back to Fixes and click Check again. When your pages state their language, this problem moves to Resolved.

The top of the Fixes page, with an arrow pointing at the Check again button
