Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
AI Schema Generator ("we", "us", "our") operates the AI Schema Gen service at aischemagen.com, the AI Schema Gen WordPress plugin, and the AI Readiness Checker Chrome extension. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you register, we collect:
- Email address
- Name (optional)
- Encrypted password
- Plan and subscription status
2.2 Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the Service, including:
- Number of AI schema generations per month
- Schema types generated
- Connected WordPress site URLs
- API key usage logs
2.3 Content Data
When you use the "Generate with AI" feature, the page content you submit (title, body text, post type) is sent to our servers and then to OpenAI for processing. We do not permanently store your page content, it is used only to generate the schema markup and is not retained after processing.
2.4 Generated Schema and Plugin Settings
Unlike the raw page content described above, the schema markup (JSON-LD) generated for each of your pages, along with your plugin configuration (site type, business subtype, and related automation settings), is retained on our servers. This powers your AI Schema Gen dashboard and allows your schema and settings to be restored automatically if you reconnect a WordPress site after uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. Your WordPress API key is never included in this stored data.
2.5 Technical Data
- IP address (for rate limiting and security)
- The country your connection is in, when you use our free tools. See section 9.
- Browser type and version
- An anonymous visitor ID, used only to tell repeat visits apart. See section 9 for what it is and what it is not.
- WordPress version and site URL of connected sites
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the Service
- To enforce usage limits based on your subscription plan
- To send transactional emails (account creation, password reset, billing)
- To improve the Service and fix bugs
- To detect and prevent abuse or unauthorised access
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Third-Party Services
4.1 OpenAI
Your page content is transmitted to OpenAI for AI processing. OpenAI processes this data under their own privacy policy. We use the API in a way that does not allow OpenAI to train on your data by default. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
4.2 Railway
Our backend infrastructure is hosted on Railway. Your data is stored on Railway-managed servers. See Railway's Privacy Policy.
4.3 Vercel
Our frontend is hosted on Vercel. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
4.4 Paddle
Payments for paid plans are handled by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record. When you subscribe, Paddle collects and processes the billing information needed to complete your purchase, such as your name, email, and payment details, we do not receive or store your full card details ourselves. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
5. The Chrome Extension
The AI Readiness Checker browser extension analyses the web page in your active browser tab. It runs only when you click its toolbar icon to open the popup.
5.1 What runs in your browser
When you open the popup, the extension reads the current page's Schema.org markup, heading structure, meta tags, canonical URL and image alt-text coverage. This first pass happens entirely on your device and sends nothing anywhere. It works offline, on staging sites, on localhost, and on pages behind a login.
5.2 What is sent to our server
To produce the parts of the analysis that cannot be done in the browser (schema validation, entity analysis, knowledge-graph checks, and a robots.txt lookup of which AI crawlers the page allows), the extension sends the following to our own API and to no other party:
- The URL of the page you are analysing
- The Schema.org markup blocks found on the page
- A structural summary: counts and true/false flags such as the number of headings, whether a heading level is skipped, image and alt-text counts, the page title, meta description, language and canonical value, and whether Open Graph tags are present
- The length (character count) of the visible text your browser rendered
The extension does notsend the page's HTML source, its visible body text, form contents, cookies, or your browsing history.
5.3 Local storage
The most recent analysis for a page is cached on your device using the browser's local extension storage, so reopening the popup is instant. You can clear it at any time by removing the extension.
5.4 How this data is used
Solely to generate the readiness analysis shown in the popup. It is not sold, not shared with third parties, and not used for advertising or any creditworthiness or lending assessment. Requests are logged transiently for abuse prevention and debugging, as described in section 7.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your account data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway. API keys are stored securely in your WordPress database and transmitted only over HTTPS. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active
- Usage logs are retained for up to 90 days
- Page content submitted for schema generation is not permanently stored
- Generated schema markup and plugin settings are retained to enable automatic restoration if you reconnect a WordPress site after uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin
- Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (which may affect your ability to use the Service)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@aischemagen.com.
9. Cookies and Anonymous Visitor ID
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not share anything with advertising or analytics companies.
If you accept our cookie notice, we store one randomly generated ID in your browser. It is a random string that contains no information about you, no name, no email address and nothing taken from your device. Its only purpose is to tell us whether several free website checks were run by the same browser or by different people, so we can understand how the free tool is used. If you decline the notice, nothing is stored on your device and the ID is deleted if one was already saved. Clearing your browser data removes it either way.
Separately, when you use our free tools we create a one-way code from your IP address and browser details for the same counting purpose. The code is scrambled with a secret value that we replace every day and then discard, so the code cannot be turned back into your IP address or browser details by us or by anyone else. We store only the code. Neither your IP address nor your browser details are saved alongside it.
We also work out which country your connection is in and keep that, so we can see which parts of the world our free tools are being used from. We do this on our own server, using a lookup file we hold ourselves, so your IP address is not sent to any other company for this. Nothing more precise than the country is worked out or kept, and your IP address itself is still not saved.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, contact us immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
12. Contact
