How to Make Your Phone, Email and Address Readable by AI
Your phone number, email or address may be on your site for visitors, but not in the part written for machines. Adding them once in Business Identity puts them on your pages as data an AI tool can quote.
In your report
Your contact details are not in a form machines can read
What this means
People can read a phone number in a picture, a footer or a contact form. Machines often cannot, or cannot be sure the number belongs to the business and not to something else on the page.
Structured data has named places for these details: a phone number, an email and a postal address, attached directly to your business. Our check looks for two things there: a way to reach you (a phone number or an email, either one counts) and an address. This problem appears when one or both are missing.
Why it matters for AI
"How do I contact them?" and "Where are they?" are among the first things people ask an AI assistant about a business. Stated as data, your details can be quoted back exactly. Left as loose text, they may be guessed, mixed up with another business, or left out.
A matching phone number and address are also how machines tell that the business on your site is the same one listed elsewhere.
Fix it with AI Schema Gen
Every step below is in the AI Schema Gen dashboard, whatever your site is built with. For the fixes to reach your pages, your site needs to be connected first: connect your site.
- 1
Open Fixes
In the menu on the left, click Fixes.

- 2
Click Add your business details
Find Complete your business details and click Add your business details.

- 3
Fill in Contact Info
Under Contact Info, fill in Phone or Email. One is enough; both is better.
Then fill in Street Address, City and Postal / ZIP Code.
Use the details you want customers to use: a number someone answers and a shared inbox such as hello@ or support@, not a personal one.

- 4
No public address? Add where you work instead
If you travel to your customers and your business is marked Service area only, the address boxes are hidden on purpose.
Under Service Area, click Add area and type the towns or regions you cover. That counts in place of an address.

- 5
Click Save
Scroll back up and click Save.

- 6
Your pages update
You will see Saved. Your live pages are being updated now.
On a copy-and-paste site, go to Sites and click Get the new code instead.

- 7
Check again
Go back to Fixes and click Check again. When your contact details are on your pages as data, this problem moves to Resolved.

On WordPress
Contact details can be edited in the dashboard or in the AI Schema Gen plugin: they sync both ways. Details saved in the dashboard reach the plugin when someone next opens your WordPress admin, or within 6 hours. If saving says the plugin has not picked them up yet, open your WordPress admin once, come back, and click Try again.
Check it worked
Run the free AI readiness check again once your change is live. This problem should be gone from the Understand part of the report.
